There is not a traditional overland route across the whole of Zambia as such, this would take about a month or even more if you want to reach the eastern parks. The best way to get to know Zambia is to divide the journey into several stages. The most interesting part in the Luangwa valley, then lower Zambeze, the Victoria Falls and Kasanka.

For the Luangwa Valley we have a very nice and unique trip, a Trekking inside the North Luangwa National Park.

Day 01 NORTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

Arrival to North Luangwa's remote National Park. Overnight at Nkalamo Bush camp.

Day 02.-NORTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK . Nkalamo BUSHCAMP.

You will know you are in one of the wildest places in Africa, some experts say the entire world. The Park has more than 4000 square kilometres of protected nature; we will have the privilege of spending the night in this more remote zone, which in the local Bemba dialect meaning LION. And it is because that zone riddled with these magnificent predators. We will spend the day preparing our great adventure: a mobile safari inside the national park. As the former explorers, we will cross by foot the wildest area of the world.

Overnight at Nkalamo Bush camp.

Day 03 & 04. - FLY CAMPS – NORTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

We go out on foot northward, following the Luangwa River. During those days we will see countless pods of hippos. Big crocs flee into the water, surprised by our arrival. All day long we will see the typical local animals, Impalas, pukus, zebras and buffaloes. We will pass the remote park entrance called South Gate and our aim will be the confluence of the Mwaleshi River at the Luangwa River. A magical area specially protected as an important ecological interest site. Nearby we will establish our tended camp. Under the bright evening stars next to out campfire, we can discuss this days fascinating experiences. Overnight at camp.

Day 05, 06 & 07 . - FLY CAMPS – NORTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

We continue on foot heading North, following the Luangwa River, in a more wooded zone. We will follow the many animal spoor that our trackers can identify easily. We can expect to encounter numerous variety of wildlife enroute. At night the sounds invade our camp, but thanks to the heat of the fire we will feel secure. Overnight at camp.

Day 08 & 9. - NORTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK.

Overnight at Delia Lodge.

We come to camp, following the whole Luangwa riverbed. Then we will be able to rest for two days after our wonderful adventure. We can visit a village across the Luangwa River called Chifunda. The day after, we will drive to Delia Lagoon of Eye of the Elephant fame, a splendid lake full of hippos and birds. Accommodation at Delia Lodge .

Day 11. - NORTH LUANGWA-departure

Transfer to next destination

01/02 Days.- LUSAKA-MFUWE

Departure in regular flight to LUSAKA , via connected points. Arrival to the capital of Zambia , assistance and transfer by plane towards Mfuwe in the Luangwa Valley ( Zambia ). Overnight at The Mfuwe Lodge or similar.

Days 03/04.- SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

During those days we will be able to do morning & late afternoon/evening open vehicle game drives. Equipped with powerful spots we will deal to locate the predators, the lions and the leopards. Every day we will take a brief appetizer on the Luangwa river banks enjoying the extraordinary sunset, while plenty of hippos and crocodiles start their night activities. Overnight at The Mfuwe Lodge or similar.

Day 05.- BUSHCAMPS – SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

Today we will drive to our Bushcamp, to a much more remote zone of the park. We will cross wonderful places, and next to the river we will see a numerous banns of hippos, there are very few tourits and the wild behavior of the animals is a good proof. Accommodation at bushcamps or at The Mfuwe Lodge.

Days 06/07/08 & 09.- NORTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK

We fly to North Luangwa , following the river. This park has been closed to public more than 30 years and has been used as protection area by the Frankfurt Zoological Society.

It is famous for it high number of lions, surprising herds of buffalos (more than one thousand). Open vehicle game drives and walking safaris. Overnight at Delia Camp.

Day 10 - NORTH LUANGWA-MFUWE-LUSAKA

Transfer by plane to Mfuwe and then to LUSAKA , assistance and transfer to international flight to your country via connected points. Night on board.

EASTERN PARKS:

12 days

Day 01/02.- LUSAKA

Departure in regular flight to LUSAKA , via connected points. Arrival to the capital of ZAMBIA , assistance and transfer to the hotel. Free time to visit Lusaka.

Day 03/04.- LUSAKA- KASANKA

You fly to Kasanka National Park . You enjoy two days excursions around the Wasa lake while we'll try to see the Sitatunga. Accommodation at WASA Lodge.

Day 05/06/07 & 08.- NORTH LUANGWA

Transfer by plane to North Luangwa National Park . This park has been closed to public more than 30 years and has been used as protected area by the Frankfurt Zoological Society.

During 3 days you will enjoy walking game drives. Overnight at Delia Camp.

09/10 & 11.- SOUTH LUANGWA

Transfer by plane to South Luangwa National Park , folowing the river. Those days, you will enjoy day and night time game drives (optional). Accommodation at Wildlife Lodge.

Day 12.- LUSAKA

Transfer by plane to Lusaka. Assistance and transfer to international flight to Spain via connected points. Night on board.
