| Zambia, as a country has made a serious
effort for conservatism and tourism, taking special care in the
interaction between man and the natural resources, having achieved
a sustainable development in most of its National Parks.
The country is rich in water, several large rivers as the Zambeze,
Luangwa and Kafue run through it and of course this makes the
country rich in fauna too.
The big National Parks in Zambia are along the water sources,
so we have Kafue, South Luangwa and lower Zambeze. These are some
of the better known NP in the whole of Africa, not only for its
size but also for its diversity and wonderful scenery.

There are 3 principal gate ways to Zambia, one is Lusaka
international airport, and other one is through the bridge across the
Zambeze from Zimbabwe next to Victoria Falls and the third from Malawi
crossing the border from Lilongwe to Chipata. From Lilongwe there is
a regular flight (air Zambia) in fix wing to Mfuwe (south Luangwa NP),
Lusaka or Livingstone (Victoria Falls).

| The surface of Zambia is 752.372 square kilometres, the average
altitude is between 1000 and 1600 metres. The vegetation is lush
due to its rivers and annual rainfall. The rain season stars in
November, it is a great moment to visit the NP because it is the
bearing season for most antelopes. The abundantly of offspring
makes it frequent to see some of the larger carnivores, hyena,
lion and even wild dog, this period of rains runs until January
and is known as the short rain season, the long rain season run
from February to mid may. From June to august the temperature
is mild ( mind the sun ) becoming very hot in September and October.

The surroundings of the National Parks are densely populated and these
people have learn to be very aware of their natural resources and are
usually very good hosts.

As in most African countries the cities in Zambia have colourful markets
and some parts of the cities have a nice traditional way to them. We
recommend Chipata or Livingstone, by the way in the latter the view
over Victoria Falls ( 10 minutes away ) is more spectacular than from
Zimbabwe.
